The Yabun Festival is thrilled to announce its partnership with Supply Nation, the Australian leader in supplier diversity.
The vibrant celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures is scheduled for Friday, 26 January 2024, on Gadigal Country at Victoria Park in Camperdown. This year’s Yabun Festival is set to be a testament to the enduring strength of Indigenous cultures, with Supply Nation as a proud sponsor.
As the custodian of the biggest national database of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, Supply Nation’s support is a significant milestone for the Yabun Festival.
This year’s theme, ‘Surviving, Guiding, Thriving,’ highlights the resilience and enduring strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, making it an ideal collaboration in showcasing Indigenous businesses from across Australia.
Since 2009, Supply Nation has worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses along with procurement teams from government and corporate Australia to help shape today’s emerging and rapidly evolving Indigenous business sector.
“The Yabun Festival is more than just a gathering; it’s a living testament to the enduring strength and vibrancy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures,” says Gadigal Information Service Chairperson Dallas Wellington.
“We warmly invite people from all backgrounds to join us in celebrating the world’s oldest living cultures at this unique event.”
The Yabun Festival promises a day filled with exciting activities, including performances by emerging and established musicians, dance performances at the Corroboree Ground, and engaging conversations on topics of interest to Aboriginal communities in the Speak Out tent.
Additionally, a bustling marketplace will feature a diverse array of stallholders, offering a unique opportunity for festival-goers to explore Indigenous businesses and their products.
Supply Nation is proud to stand alongside Yabun Festival in celebrating Indigenous cultures and businesses.
Kate Russell, Supply Nation CEO and proud saltwater woman from the Awabakal community, said, “Supply Nation is very proud to sponsor Yabun 2024. On what is a sad day – to bring mob together and honour culture, community, and survival is a powerful thing.”
