9 March 2023

Lola Forester caught up with the women involved in the Yanalangami: Strong Women, Strong Communities program during a live broadcast on International Women’s Day.

The Yanalangami: Strong Women, Strong Communities program seeks to connect, inspire and strengthen Indigenous women’s leadership for themselves, their families and their communities. The program is designed by, for and governed by Indigenous women and directly invests in the inherent leadership skills of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.

Lola Forester and Rayma Johnson

Each year, deadly women nominate themselves or someone in their community to the program. Selected participants than undertake the full program online, consisting of learning materials, self-reflection tools, weekly yarning circles, presentations and coaching. It is a healing journey, inviting women to stand stronger in their identity and celebrate their stories. Applications are open now (from 8th March) and closing start of April!
