SXSW Sydney has come and gone and among the hundreds of shows, talks, gigs, and parties, a little slice of Aotearoa/New Zealand made its home on Gadigal Country.
Aotearoa House celebrated dozens of artists, performers, programmers, and entrepreneurs and highlighted Kiwi creativity at the hugely successful inaugural SXSW Sydney.
MOHI, Jordyn With A Why, and Rebel Reid swung past Koori Radio HQ in Redfern to chat with the Puha and Porkbones team about SXSW Sydney and all their latest work.
“It’s an awesome, wholesome vibe,” Jordyn With a Why said about Aotearoa House.
“Maori, non-Maori we’re all just hanging out in one hub.”
SXSW gives creatives in a bunch of different industries — from tech to hip-hop — the opportunity to showcase their work and meet other professionals.
“I had a buzz looking at everyone enjoy our culture,” guitarist and singer/song writer Rebel Reid said.
“I think it’s just the coolest thing.”
You can listen to Puha and Porkbones every Thursday from 6pm live on Koori Radio 93.7FM or on the Koori Radio App.
